KATHMANDU: The much-anticipated sequel to the superhit film Jari has officially been announced! To mark the occasion of the New Year 2082, the first-look poster of ‘Jari 2’ was revealed on Monday, confirming the film’s production.
The new poster, released recently, has actor Dayahang Rai playing the Limbu’s native instrument, ‘Chyabrung’. The tagline for the film, “Song of Chyabrung,” is a tribute to this folk instrument that is a part of Limbu society in Eastern Nepal but never apart from them.
‘Jari 2’ will be scripted and directed by Upendra Subba, the mastermind behind the blockbuster ‘Jari’ (2023).The sequel is set to hit theaters during this year’s Dashain festival, as mentioned in the poster.
The first film ‘Jari’ was a massive success, grossing over 17 crores at the Nepali box office. It had a fine cast of
Dayahang Rai, Vijay Baral, and Miruna Magar. ‘Jari 2’ will continue these actors with Richa Sharma, Buddhi Tamang, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, and many more.
Bansuri Films and Kabaddi Films are producing ‘Jari 2’. The shooting will begin in the third week of Baishakh with the place for shooting to be some of the scenic areas in Panchthar.
