KATHMANDU: Durga Prasai, the main commander of the Tinkune incident, has been taken to the Kathmandu District Court for an extension of his remand.
He was taken to the court from the District Attorney’s Office a short while ago. The police have demanded that he be kept in custody for at least 12 days for investigation. The police have also demanded that his bodyguard Deepak Khadka, who was arrested with him, be kept in custody for 12 days.
Prasai has now been taken to the Government Attorney’s Office after arranging the necessary documents there. Prasai will be taken to the District Attorney’s Office in a short while. Preparations are underway to extend the remand against him today.
Police sources have said that they are preparing to file a case against him for crimes including attempted murder. Prasai was absconding after the protest in Tinkune on March 15.
