The advance bookings have opened for two Nepali films, ‘Anjila’ and ‘Outlaw Section 219’, which are set to be released tomorrow, Thursday, on the occasion of Holi. Multiplex halls across the country have given these two films high ratings. Multiplexes like QFX, the largest multiplex chain in Nepal, and the second largest chain INI Cinemas, One Cinemas, Big Movies, and Fcube have given good ratings to ‘Anjila’ and ‘Outlaw Section 219’. The audience has shown high enthusiasm for the film after the premiere of ‘Anjila’ held in Kathmandu on Monday.

The positive response has also encouraged the theater business. According to director Milan Chams, ‘Anjila’ has received more than 110 shows till Wednesday morning and more shows are likely to increase till evening. Chams said, “The audience response is very encouraging for us, the audience presence and response are more important than the number of shows.” Along with multiplexes, single screen halls have also given the film a good show. It is expected that the number of shows will increase from Friday as most halls will only operate from Thursday afternoon due to the Phagu Purnima. The film ‘Anjila’ is the story of the life struggle and success of Nepali football player Anjila Tumbapo Subba. Anjila herself is presented in the lead role, while Sunil Thapa, Dayahang Rai, Bijay Baral, Sirjana Subba, Maotse Gurung, Buddhi Tamang and other actors are in the cast. The film was shot in Ilam, Jhapa and Kathmandu. According to director Chams, although it is challenging to make a sports-based film by making maximum use of Nepali resources, he believes that ‘Anjila’ will make a new impact. Producer Prem Kumar Shrestha has expressed his confidence that the film will inspire those interested in sports. The film premiered in various countries including Nepal (Dharan, Kathmandu) and Hong Kong, Korea, UK, US, Australia, Japan. The film, which has received positive feedback from the audience even before its release in theaters, is expected to perform well.

Similarly, the action genre-based film ‘Outlaw Section 219’ has received a ‘PG certificate’ from the Film Censorship Committee, according to which viewers under the age of 16 can only watch it with a parent. Bookings for the film have already opened in theaters across the country, and multiplexes have provided adequate shows. The production side claims that there is a good turnout in the theaters. Written and directed by Vicky Maharjan, the film is produced by Amit Agrahari. The film stars Sushil Shrestha, Shiksha Sangraula, Naresh Poudel and other actors. It is said that this action-packed film will also raise social issues. The film, which has completed the censor process in Japan and Qatar before its release in Nepal, has already received excellent response there. The production team is confident that it will also receive a positive response from the Nepali audience. The trailer has garnered good buzz and the film is expected to have a happy opening. Similarly, advance bookings have also opened for the film ‘Rajaganj’, which is set to hit screens from Friday. Some theaters have opened bookings for this movie, while some theaters have put the show on hold as it has not received permission from the Central Film Censorship Board.
