RSP’s general convention rescheduled for coming February

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party has rescheduled the date of its general convention.

The central committee meeting today decided to hold the party’s general convention from February 19, 2026 in Chitwan, said Acting Spokesperson of the party, Manish Jha.

Earlier, the RSP had decided to hold its general convention in May.

Similarly, the meeting took the decision to conduct ward-level convention till October 17, municipal convention till November 16, province convention till January 29, 2026.

Jha mentioned that the central committee meeting unanimously passed the procedure of ‘Janayatra Abhiyan’ of the party formed under the coordination of deputy leader of RSP Parliamentary Party, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha.

The meeting decided to assign Santosh Pariyar as the in-charge of Koshi Province, Manish Jha as in-charge of Madhes Province, Lima Adhikari as in-charge of Bagmati province, Shishir Khanal as in-charge of Gandaki Province, Bipin Kumar Acharya as in-charge of Lumbini Province, Ganesh Parajuli as in-charge of Karnali Province and Hari Dhakal as in-charge of Sudurpaschim Province.

On the occasion, RSP Vice-Chairperson Dr Swarnim Wagle presented a draft of the ‘blue print’ the party is preparing. The full report in this regard would be released in policy conference scheduled for June 7 in Kathmandu.
